A 27-year-old man from Dallas faces charges of aggravated kidnapping following an incident in which he allegedly abducted a 12-year-old Galveston girl while she was walking her dog. The girl was reportedly taken to a nearby hotel, according to law enforcement officials.
Graham Michael Dunn was taken into custody on the morning of January 31 after law enforcement officials found the girl at the Galveston Beach Hotel, as detailed in court documents. Authorities have accused Dunn of compelling the girl into his vehicle on the evening of January 30 as she was walking her dog in a residential neighborhood of Galveston.
A family's concern grew when their dog returned home alone, leading them to reach out to law enforcement for assistance. Authorities reported that officers utilized investigative tools to track the girl's cellphone to a hotel, where surveillance footage captured her entering a room with Dunn.
At approximately 4 a.m. on January 31, law enforcement officials arrived at the hotel and entered the room, where they discovered Dunn and the girl, as detailed in the charging documents. Police took Dunn into custody at the scene.
According to court records, investigators allege that Dunn provided the girl with two pills that caused her to feel “woozy.” Authorities have made additional allegations, claiming that he assaulted her and captured the incident on his cellphone.
Dunn continues to face charges of aggravated kidnapping. According to the latest court records, a status conference is set to take place on February 10.
