Peninsula has announced a significant expansion of its US Gulf Coast operations, with a focus on the Galveston Offshore Lightering Area, to deliver high-quality marine fuel solutions across the region.
Peninsula, the foremost independent marine energy supplier, is set to enhance its operations on the US Gulf Coast by launching a new offshore supply platform focused on the Galveston Offshore Lightering Area (GOLA). This strategic initiative is designed to provide top-notch, adaptable, and eco-friendly marine fuel options to Peninsula’s expanding clientele across the Americas.
Peninsula’s skilled Houston Physical Desk will oversee the operation, recognized for its local knowledge in offshore bunkering. The expansion will be supported by the 16,626 DWT bunker tanker MT Stenheim, capable of delivering a comprehensive range of marine fuels, including HSF0380, VLSFO 0.5%, LSMGO, and biofuels, underscoring Peninsula’s commitment to sustainability and the energy transition.
As reported by Peninsula, the new platform provides flexibility with port options between Houston/Port Arthur inshore and Galveston Offshore, along with access to extensive market insights for competitive pricing and strategic positioning. The initiative also aims to reach a variety of customer groups, including specialized offshore vessels.

The expanded coverage from Peninsula now offers options for South Sabine and Offshore Corpus Christi. At the same time, access to the Mississippi entry at Southwest Pass and the LOOP terminal in Louisiana is still available upon request.
This expansion solidifies Peninsula’s position as a reliable ally in the worldwide marine energy supply network.
