League City’s City Council will weigh a multi-million dollar food services contract and a new city-run after-school initiative during its June 24 meeting.
The League City City Council is set to deliberate on a $2.3 million food services contract and the initiation of a new after-school program during its regular meeting scheduled for Monday, June 24 at 6 p.m., as outlined in city documents.
A new contract is on the table to deliver food supply services for The Ballpark at League City, a recreational facility run by the city that accommodates community events and sports activities throughout the year. Suppliers expected to provide products include Sysco, Gordon Food Service, and Ben E. Keith.
Council members are set to vote on a resolution that will initiate a city-run after-school program, scheduled to kick off in August, alongside the ballpark contract. The resolution allocates funding for the rest of the fiscal year and establishes part-time camp counselor roles to support the program.
A vote is also scheduled to set a 35 mph speed limit on a 1.78-mile section of Hobbs Road, stretching from Ervin Street to Patagonia Street, to enhance traffic safety in the vicinity.
The gathering is scheduled to take place at the League City Municipal Court, located at 200 W. Walker St.
