Galveston Island's yearly Independence Day Parade and fireworks show will take place along the historic Seawall.
Get ready for a party with lots of stars and stripes. Locals and tourists alike gather for a night of patriotic fun on Thursday, July 4, as part of this beloved ritual.
From 22nd Street to 45th Street, the parade starts at 6:00 PM with a lively line-up of Jeeps, golf carts, floats, marching bands, and community groups. There will be a lot of music and candy throwing, so make sure your tunes are clean and your cars are ready for the parade. At 4:30 PM, the parade line-up starts at 19th and Seawall.
At 9:15 PM, following the parade, a beautiful fireworks show will take place over the Gulf to continue the celebration. You can see the show from almost anywhere on the island, but the best views will be along the Seawall between 27th and 37th Streets.
People who want to watch one of Galveston's most famous summer events should bring lawn chairs, snacks, and a sense of patriotism. This fun-filled evening will conclude with fireworks that will illuminate the sky, marking the end of a day of island fun and community pride.
To ensure everything goes smoothly, plan for parking and arrive early to secure a good view. Galveston, have a great Fourth of July!
