Galveston County Fair returns with rodeo, music and family fun

The Galveston County Fair & Rodeo will make its much-anticipated return from April 17 to 25 at Jack Brooks Park. This event promises nine days of thrilling rodeo action, live music, and agricultural showcases, set against the vibrant backdrop of the Gulf Coast. Additionally, a sneak peek night is planned for April 16, offering an exciting preview of the festivities to come.

According to organizers, the annual event remains one of the region's most enduring traditions, attracting thousands of visitors each year to honor Texas agriculture, Western heritage, and community engagement. The fair, a beloved tradition in Galveston County, remains dedicated to its mission of supporting youth programs and educational initiatives.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in several activities, including livestock competitions, rodeo events, cook-offs, and concerts featuring Texas country and Red Dirt artists. Scheduled to take the stage are Casey Donahew, Kevin Fowler, and Cody Canada, alongside various regional acts performing over several nights.

The opening festivities kicked off on April 16, featuring performances by the Cameron Sacky Band and Payton Howie. The excitement continued with headliner Wynn Williams taking the stage on opening night, April 17. Later in the week, audiences can look forward to performances by Bleu Edmondson and Jon Stork, leading up to a closing weekend lineup that seamlessly combines country and regional favorites.

Outside of the main stage, the fairgrounds will showcase interactive experiences that the organizers claim set this event apart from larger festivals. The lineup features the well-loved Texas Petting Zoo, alongside livestock barns and show arenas where young exhibitors showcase the animals they've dedicated months to raising.

Within the arena, contests showcase the fair's focus on agricultural education. Events like these auctions play a crucial role in generating substantial funding for youth programs. In 2025, livestock and agricultural sales generated over $1 million in revenue, showcasing strong community support.

Food takes center stage, highlighted by two prominent cook-offs celebrating Gulf Coast seafood and Texas barbecue. According to organizers, the contests attract competitive teams seeking regional acclaim.

The entertainment pavilion and Boots N Wine Garden are set to enhance the experience with more live performances in a laid-back atmosphere, showcasing local and regional artists while offering various wine selections.

Concert tickets grant entry to the fairgrounds, rodeo events, and various vendors. Visitors are urged to stay informed by checking schedules and updates through official channels prior to opening day.
