An altercation involving a Galveston County bus driver and an 11-year-old student over a bag of chips has led to the driver’s arrest. The driver allegedly grabbed the child by the wrist and removed him from the bus, sparking outrage from the boy's mother.

Following an incident in Bacliff, Texas, in which an 11-year-old pupil was allegedly assaulted over a bag of chips, a bus driver from Galveston County has been arrested and charged. The incident has resulted in Lindsey Wynne, the child's mother, pursuing answers and demanding justice.
Her son, Owen Lacy, called her in tears, and Wynne recounts the emotional event. Wynne stated, "He was weeping, alleging that the bus driver had touched him." Owen boarded the bus at approximately 7 a.m. on Tuesday, and the incident transpired shortly after that. Nearby 4th and 5th streets, he was dropped off ten minutes later, a considerable distance from his customary bus stop.
According to Wynne, Owen was clutching his phone and a bag of chips when he boarded the bus. The driver reportedly informed Owen that he was prohibited from possessing the chips on the bus. Owen responded by stating that he intended to place them in his backpack. The situation rapidly intensified when the bus driver allegedly grabbed Owen by the wrist and forcibly tossed the chips away. After the altercation, Owen consented to the driver's inquiry regarding his desire to return home.
Wynne was only informed of the situation after a concerned neighbor shared a Facebook post about Owen exiting the bus early. She is currently incensed and is requesting additional information regarding the incident.
The bus driver is being held in detention pending charges, and the Galveston County Sheriff's Office is investigating the matter.
