Galveston will host a fan celebration for the Dutch Orange Bus ahead of its trip to Dallas for a World Cup match, featuring a public meet-and-greet, proclamation and convoy along The Strand and Seawall.

Galveston officials will welcome the Dutch Orange Bus on Saturday morning, hosting a fan celebration before the iconic vehicle heads to Dallas for a World Cup match.
The bright orange bus, known as “De beroemde Oranjebus,” is a longstanding Netherlands soccer tradition, leading supporters with music, energy, and team spirit during major international matches.
The public event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Saengerfest Park, where attendees can meet city leaders, including the mayor, and witness a special proclamation recognizing the visit. Organizers are encouraging fans to wear orange, take photos, and participate in the sendoff.
At 11:30 a.m., the bus and accompanying convoy will depart Saengerfest Park and travel west along The Strand to 25th Street, then head south to Seawall Boulevard before continuing west to 61st Street.
City officials say the event offers residents and visitors a chance to experience an international fan tradition up close as the bus makes its way across Texas for the June 14 match in Dallas.
Spectators can gather at the park or line the Seawall route to watch the convoy and join the celebration.
The stop marks the first public appearance of the Dutch Orange Bus in Galveston before it continues its journey to North Texas, where it is expected to lead fans during World Cup festivities.
Officials say the event highlights Galveston’s role in hosting unique cultural and sporting moments while showcasing community spirit ahead of the global tournament.
