The Clear Creek ISD board has approved a $14.1 million contract with Galveston County to provide 47 school resource officers through July 2028.

Clear Creek ISD’s board of trustees has approved a new three-year contract worth $14.1 million with Galveston County, aimed at deploying 47 school resource officers (SROs) throughout the district's campuses from July 2025 to July 2028.
The agreement, which received approval at a workshop held on July 14, extends the district's collaboration with county law enforcement as the existing SRO contract is set to expire this month. SROs are authorized peace officers responsible for ensuring safety on campus and addressing emergencies, as outlined in district documents.
The revised agreement will take effect on July 29, 2025, and includes an additional three-year contract for an administrative assistant to support the program. Projected annual costs are set to increase annually, starting at $4.55 million in 2025–26 and reaching $4.83 million by 2027–28, with the assistant's total salary over the three years estimated to exceed $82,000.
The district's general fund will provide the financial backing for both contracts.
