Carnival Miracle to Sail from Galveston in 2027 with Rare Solar Eclipse Cruise to Europe

Soon, cruisers in Texas will be able to look forward to a new experience. Carnival Cruise Line announced on Wednesday that the Carnival Miracle will start sailing from Galveston on March 29, 2027. Then it goes to Europe for a longer season, which will include a unique solar eclipse trip in the summer of 2027.

The 2,100-passenger ship will join Carnival's four-ship fleet in Texas. It will go on several cruises in the Caribbean before leaving for Europe in May. The Miracle's first trips will leave from Galveston. They will be on a variety of routes in the Caribbean, with four-day, ten-day, and Panama Canal cruises.

From its home port in Galveston, the ship will do the following: two trips of four days each to Cozumel, Mexico; a ten-day trip through the eastern Caribbean that stops at Grand Turk, Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, and Amber Cove; a 10-day trip through the Western Caribbean that includes stops in Grand Cayman, Belize, Cozumel, Isla Tropicale in Roatán, and Montego Bay; and a 10-day trip through the Panama Canal that stops in Limón, Costa Rica, Colón, Panama, Roatán, and Cozumel

After these fun trips in the Caribbean, on May 6, 2027, the Carnival Miracle will set sail on a 14-day "Carnival Journeys" cruise across the Atlantic from Galveston to Lisbon, Portugal, stopping in Bermuda and the ports of Funchal and Ponta Delgada in Portugal.

When the ship gets to Europe, it will take nine days to go from Lisbon to Dover (London), stopping in Spain, Portugal, France, and Belgium along the way. The Miracle's home port will be Dover from May to September 2027. It will go on eight- to twelve-day cruises around the British Isles, Northern Europe, Scandinavia, and the Baltic area.

The ship will move to Civitavecchia (Rome) on September 29, 2027, for several Mediterranean trips that will include stops in the Greek Isles, Turkey, Italy, Croatia, and Montenegro.

An 11-day Carnival Journeys solar eclipse cruise leaving from Dover on July 29, 2027, will be one of the best events of the season. During the trip, people will be able to see the total solar eclipse on August 2 at sea while they are in Guernsey, Portugal; La Coruña, Spain; Le Havre, France; and Zeebrugge, Belgium.

"There will be many ways to see the solar eclipse on August 2, but the most fun way will be from Carnival Miracle," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. "The summer of 2027 will be a great season in Europe, and our large and varied fleet and list of U.S. homeports will give the 2027/28 season even more variety and adventure."

Carnival also announced new routes for Carnival Paradise and Carnival Elation. The ships will continue to depart from Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida, and will offer vacations to Nassau, Cozumel, Key West, and Celebration Key in the Caribbean.
