The Galveston city council has accepted a donation to improve a local park. A $120,000 gift from Project Rosenberg will be used for various upgrades.

The improvements will include the addition of trees and landscaping, as well as the installation of irrigation and pathways. The historic Henry Rosenberg Fountain will also be relocated.

The park will be named after Dr. Nancy Lefeber Hughes, a local physician. The council voted unanimously in favor of accepting the donation. For more information on this development, readers can consult the Galveston County Daily News.
